Azione Improvvisa

Azione_Improvvisa is a contemporary music ensemble rooted in Italy and integral to Anomalía ETS, where research and experimental practice form the core of its artistic vision.
Central to the ensemble is a quartet–Margherita Berlanda (accordion), Pietro Paolo Dinapoli (electric guitar), Andrea Antonel (theorbo), and Davide Bardi (electronics) . This distinctive sonic palette challenges and expands traditional definitions of musical identity.
Since its foundation in 2017, Azione_Improvvisa has extended its practice beyond performance, embracing pedagogical and compositional research through the contributions of Raul Masu and Daniela Fantechi. The whole ensemble cultivate a fertile interdisciplinary environment that bridges creation, education, and technological inquiry.
Recipient of a Grant-in-Aid from the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung, the ensemble has presented its work in significant festivals such as Angelica (Bologna), Transart (Bolzano), and Milano Musica, Commute Festival (Tallinn), Società Filarmonica di Trento, Kortrijk Festival (Belgium), Musica Insieme Festival (Panicale), MA/IN Festival, Unerhörte Musik Festival (Germany), and has engaged in residencies at institutions including Centro Santa Chiara (Trento) and Fondazione Spinola Banna (Turin).
Azione_Improvvisa has collaborated with and premiered works by composers such as Zeno Baldi, Farzia Fallah, Daniela Fantechi, Marco Momi, Filippo Perocco, Lula Romero, Giorgio Colombo Taccani, Einike Leppik, Ariadna Alsina Tarrés, Mauro Lanza, Maurizio Azzan, Giovanni Bertelli, Silvia Borrelli, Macarena Rosmarich and Michele Abondano.
Through its continuous interrogation of sonic boundaries, Azione_Improvvisa positions itself at the forefront of contemporary music’s evolving landscape.
