Gemma Ragués Pujol

Gemma Raguès Pujol (*1993 in Barcelona) is composer, text performer and sometimes writer specialized in contemporary and experimental music.

She often works at the interface between voice and electronics, physical presence and performance. Her works are rooted in profound conceptual and poetic ideas. They aim to be absurd, puzzling and funny. An alliance between voice, text, acoustic instruments, performance, electronics and a lot of force on stage. She uses texts and poetry to build up stories and dramaturgies full of onirism, humor and conceptual dilemmas. She is passionate about repetition. She has performed as a soloist at venues such as the Biennale di Venezia Musica 2022 or the Tafelhalle Nürnberg and her works have been premiered by ensembles such as Neue Vocalsolisten, VORTEX Ensemble, the Biel Symphony Orchestra, NEC or NEKO3, beyond others, in festivals such as Venice Biennale, ECLAT, Jardins Musicaux or Musikfestival Bern.
