Sergey Shabohin/Christoph Ogiermann: Practises of Subordination

Artist, curator, art activist and critic Sergey Shabohin (*1984 in Novopolotsk, Belarus) lives and works in Poznan, Poland. 1999–2002 studied at the Republican College of Art, Minsk, Belarus; 2002–2009 studied at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, Minsk, Belarus; 2009–2013 curator and co-curator of several exhibitions at Y Gallery, Minsk, Belarus; 2011–2014 founder and editor-in-chief of the portal for contemporary Belarusian art Art Aktivist (artaktivist.org); since 2015 co-founder and main editor of the platform for contemporary Belarusian art KALEKTAR (kalektar.org). Residencies: 2016 Gaude Polonia (fellowship), Warsaw, Poland; ZKM, Karlsruhe, Germany; 2013 Galeria Arsenal, Bialystok, Poland. Prizes: 2009 Belarusian Pavilion of the 53rd Venice Biennale at the exhibition center Belexpo, Minsk, Belarus. Prize winner of the pavilion. Nominations: The Jury’s Choice & The Choice of Viewers.
