Bernhard Gander: Sludgelines

für Ensemble

(2024)

Sludge lines‘Sludge lines’ refers to pipes and systems that transport sludge, a semi-solid residue from wastewater treatment, or the entire process and infrastructure for treating and disposing of sludge.

Sludge lines are sluggish, muddy, sloppy and mostly deep-sounding lines that slowly and sluggishly meander through the sonic landscape, eventually becoming purified and clarified melodies.
