With their »joint adventure«, the two adventurous and challenge-seeking ensembles from France and Germany are fulfilling a long-cherished wish to build up a joint repertoire that, through the special instrumentation of C Barré with bass clarinet, saxophone, accordion, percussion, mandolin, (electric) guitar, cymbalon and double bass in combination with the voices, allows great diversity and unique sound colors. The themes on which the four young composers commissioned by the ensembles–all of them no strangers to ECLAT–draw their inspiration are just as diverse and personal: from dealing with grief and loss to bitingly ironic commentary on populism, climate change and other explosive topics of world affairs.
