The transmediale music theater FRAME comments on the changes and manipulations of perception in a complex, global, digitalized and media-influenced world. In our medial environment, we constantly sublimate, refine, process, contextualize and interpret. The interpretation of public events is controlled by media spectacles, political contents are often masked by aestheticization. And artistic work shifts from the realm of invention into the realm of finding. Malte Giesen finds the material for his musical theatre in these media phenomena. He invents a complex game of commented, contextualized, prepared, documenting stage and space music, of hidden and absurd theatre, with pre-produced and live video and with popular and net culture formats. Thus FRAME becomes a precise, astonishing, biting and entertaining commentary on the subject of framing.
