Duo-Sets: Rauschzustand (2018) ^WP

For years Andrea Neumann, Sabine Ercklentz and Ute Wassermann have been working together in different constellations of experimental music. Now they are forming a new trio. N.E.W. makes his debut at ECLAT on three consecutively constructed evenings.

The artistic practice of the three performers is characterized by intensive sound research. They transform and expand conventional sound generators and use amplified objects and costumes, movable speakers, field recordings, talk boxes and mouth loudspeakers. Fragile, enlarged sound textures under a magnifying glass stand next to »walls of noise«. The work of the trio moves in a field of tension between electronic music, improvisation, composition, performance and sound art. What the three artists have in common is an interest in performative genre-spanning formats.

The new formation of the trio is to a certain extent dramaturgically comprehensible in their three-part debut: »Wuchtbrummen« shows the three as artistic solitaires, in »Rauschzustand« (8.2.) relations between different dyads are established, and in »Polyp« (9.2.) the unification of the trio is finally accomplished.
