The three virtuoso synthesizer experts share their passion for electronically generated music (from analog and digital epochs) with composer Bernhard Lang, who was immediately inspired by the idea of a »revival«. According to Lang, synthesizers show a special affinity for loops. DW30, for example, is »a further reflection on the aesthetics of loops«, in which sequencers are also used as loop machines. In Lang’s first Cheap Opera »Répétitions«, the playful gives way to a bitter seriousness: it is »a decidedly political piece, reacting to the contemporary developments in Europe towards a state of war«. Karen Power opens the concert with an encounter between two alien beings: Man and Nature. In the fusion of hyper-natural and hyper-electronic sounds she creates a unique soundscape.
